finally gotten to play Dead Space 2 and have been absolutely enjoying the new creature designs. Dead space seems to be a great Source of ingenuity in creative design. I was particularly impressed with the stalker necromorph and have found myself perpetually plagued with the need to draw it. This is the result of that plague. I used the technique I've been working on lately involving values and my seeming penchant for realism (at least as realistic an alien creature Can be) to create this work. I then-just threw some color on it as an overlay.
I think I find the Stalker interesting because they remind me so much of the raptors in Jurassic Park (just with cooler design). They are also terrifying to encounter in the game making them even more awesome.
Any way, loving the game so far and it is miracles above the first game in terms of quality.
I love this drawing and think it is one of my best to date.
I used a piece of official dead space 2 art as reference for basic features in this drawing. Mine is not a true representation of the stalkers as they are presented in the game. For example mine has hair, but the Ines in game do not. I simply just put my own spin on it. I mean, the whole idea of necromorphs involves dead tissue being morphed into a form usable by the creatures, so who says that every piece of tissue is going to evolve in the same way. I really like this one and would really like to get some feedback on it.
